Student Environmental Ambassadors

  • Winston W. - Millbrook School

Winston is a Senior at the Millbrook School whose environmental involvement started after joining the Sharon Land Trust. After doing a payed two weeks there, he asked if they had a volunteer program which he promptly joined that next summer. Besides continuing with the Sharon Land Trust, Winston continues with his passion of computer science and consuming newfound knowledge wherever he can find it.

  • Harry W. - Kent School

Harry is a Senior at Kent School. He is also an editor of the Kent School's literary and arts Magazine, The Cauldron. His interest in environmental issues began when he did an art project using recycled denim, sparking a passion for sustainability with his creative work. Since then, he has continued to explore sustainable mediums that have redefined his art approach. His interest of working with different mediums from a young age has led him to explore the built world, where he has created architectural models, projects and drawings, blending art, sustainability and architecture.

  • Owen S. - Housatonic Valley Regional High School

Owen is a Sophmore at Housatonic Valley Regional High School. He is a member of his school's FFA program and a new participant on the Envirothon team. He enjoys applying his knowledge of the environment and preparing for the state Envirothon competition. Outside of school, Owen works as an intern for the Rex Brasher Association, a non-profit in Wassaic, NY. Owen is helping to identify non-native species on the 116-acre property and is helping to create maps for artists, naturalists, and scientists.

  • Lila S. - Marvelwood School

Lila S. is a Junior at the Marvelwood School, where she is an active member in Envirothon, does community service on a local farm and regularly gives tours to prospective students. During the summer she is an activities counselor at a summer camp and spends a lot of time with her chocolate labrador, Hazelnut. Lila aspires to become an exotic veterinarian, working with small animals.

  • Alex F. - Marvelwood School

  • Aiden S. - South Kent School

Aidan S. hails from Austin, TX as an outdoors enthusiast; he enjoys camping, backpacking, rock climbing and every sport under the sun. A fun fact about Aidan is that he has summitted six “fourteeners”, peaks that exceed 14,000 feet, in Colorado! When he’s not climbing mountains, Aidan seeks out ways to preserve the nature we have now and is motivated to slow the process of global warming.

  • Neil P. - South Kent School

Neil P. was born in Minnesota and is currently living in India. Though he is not a fan of chocolate, Neil is a dynamic force on the basketball court and enjoys hitting the links to work on his chip shot.
