Student Ambassador Program
The Student Ambassador Program is an initiative that empowers students to become leaders in sustainability within their schools and communities.
Program Overview
The Student Sustainability Ambassador Program selects students from each school to represent and promote sustainability initiatives. Ambassadors must possess a passion for environmental issues.
Responsibilities
As a Student Sustainability Ambassador, your role will involve:
Reporting ongoing activities related to sustainability at your school to the Firefly Project Director
Generating increased awareness of sustainability within your community

Irine D. - Marvelwood School
Irine is a senior at the Marvelwood School, and also works as a Kent Land Trust intern during the summer where she is invested in working with purple martins. Irine has participated on Marvelwood's award winning Connecticut Envirothon teams throughout her high school career. At the collegiate level she he is aspiring to pursue political science while dabbling in scientific/nature illustration for books or museums.

Jonas M-G. - Marvelwood School
Bio coming Jonas is a senior at Marvelwood as well as a member of Marvelwood’s Avian Ambassador Community Service team. He is a co-captain for Marvelwood’s Envirothon Team as well as a two time recipient of the Rachel Carson Conservation Award. Jonas plans on majoring in Environmental Science in college, turning his passion for wildlife conservation into a career soon.

Winston W. - Millbrook School
Winston is a Junior at the Millbrook School whose environmental involvement started after joining the Sharon Land Trust. After doing a payed two weeks there, he asked if they had a volunteer program which he promptly joined that next summer. Besides continuing with the Sharon Land Trust, Winston continues with his passion of computer science and consuming newfound knowledge wherever he can find it.

Harry W. - Kent School
Harry is a Junior at Kent School. He is also an editor of the Kent School's literary and arts Magazine, The Cauldron. His interest in environmental issues began when he did an art project using recycled denim, sparking a passion for sustainability with his creative work. Since then, he has continued to explore sustainable mediums that have redefined his art approach. His interest of working with different mediums from a young age has led him to explore the built world, where he has created architectural models, projects and drawings, blending art, sustainability and architecture.
